Welcome to Willow Pilates!
Pilates is designed to connect your mind, body, and spirit so that you leave each session with a calm, focused nervous system and more energy than when you arrived. Classical Pilates adheres to Joseph Pilates’ original series of movements that focus on breathing, control, flow, and concentration. Together, these principles work to ensure uniform development of the entire body as well as increased body awareness and ability to move freely and well. The movements of Pilates center around spinal flexion, extension, side bending, and twisting, all of which progress safely in order to improve posture, alignment, strength, and flexibility.
At Willow Pilates, in addition to the original mat exercises, you’ll use several different kinds of spring loaded equipment including the Reformer, the Wunda Chair, and the Tower in order to provide support and resistance. Together, these different apparatuses work to help you feel grounded, strong, and more mobile. One of the best things about Pilates is that movers of all capabilities can experience its many benefits. Whether you enter the studio looking to move quickly and sweat or simply to seek realignment, I will meet you where you are. With passion, precision, and purpose, Pilates will help you connect to your body, your mind, and your spirit as you deepen your connection to your body and what it’s capable of.
